Argosy is a Mediterranean restaurant that specializes in Venetian Cuisine. The logo is inspired by the name and thus depicts a merchant ship. The ship can be seen as symbolism for bringing a part of its culture to new lands, as the food is authentic to its origin. It is drawn in negative space to fit the wordmark into the logo. A red semicircle encases the ship and wordmark to resemble the ship sailing into the sunset, with the words “Venetian Cuisine” small and in blue under it to imply water. The branding colors also have the red, blue and sand colors to reflect this and also give the restaurant a shabby-chic and contemporary feel.

 

The project included designing the logo, branding, stationery, menu cover, takeout packaging, and merchandise.
